H1B Visa Lawyer Blog Has Just Posted the Following:
On Wednesday, October 28, 2009, President Obama signed into law the FY10 Department of Homeland Security Appropriations bill. (http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=111_cong_bills&docid=f:h2892enr.txt.pdf) This Law provides a three year extension for four (4) immigration related programs. Specifically, the law extends the non-minister religious worker program, the �Conrad 30� program, the EB-5 visa program, and the E-Verify program through September 30, 2012.

Immigration activists say they are hopeful that Gov. Deval L. Patrick will support proposals in an advisory report calling for more English classes for the state�s immigrants and in-state tuition for undocumented college students. Patrick released the report containing 131 recommendations, which he called a �values� statement, at a luncheon for immigrant advocates.
Since July 2008, resident immigrants and activists have crowded meetings around the state pressing for those programs and others, including allowing immigrants to get state drivers licenses.

I filed my GC on EB2 and current status is :
I140 approved on Sep 2008
I 485 in process - submitted RFE on Sep 10th
Right now i m on H1B. I recently got married and my husband is on H1B he didnt start his GC process yet. At this stage can i add him on my green card. If so pls explain me the process ...

If the hospital (healthcare organization) is a non-profit body then they will not be subjected to the quota (I think). Maybe other members can validate this.

I filed my I-485 and I-140 together in July 2007 using substitute labor (priority date) in Eb3 category.
I have Master degree, so can I change my category from EB3 to EB2 and keep the same priority date?

No, you can not. there are lot more factors than your qualification.

I appeared for h1b stamping at new Delhi us embassy. VO kept my passport and forms for admin processing. VO told me it may take 2-4 weeks. they didn't give me any slips ( pink/yellow/green). I am not sure what kind of processing they wanted to do in my case

Hi all,
I am resident of CA and have my I140 application approved from Nebraska. My I485 application was filed in TSC. Is this a issue since according to USCIS, CA residents should file in the NSC. Will my I485 will be rejected because of this issue.

2. USCIS District Office IO cannot find whether the case is EB2 or EB3. Is it true or there any experiences?
3. Does any one know of any pattern of how long it will take to approve the case once its assigned to an Office?
Any input is greatly appreciated.

Case Interfiled on 08/06/2008 (Attached the EB2 I-140 to the existing I-485 Application).
Hoping that interfile is success.
