Nikon's very competitive price point on the 10.2 MP D200 (http://www.dphoto.us/news/node/2003) ($1,849) will definitely test Canon's bet on the full frame and much more expensive 5D. I came to US on J1 visa (exchange visitor program) and got waiver and converted to H1 visa. I could not apply for I-140 due to employers problems and now I have short of time for H1 extension.
Can I convert my visa to J1 again? Is H1 to J1 visa possible? Please advise.

Hi,
I am Vijay Vellabati, finished MS in Dec-06 and I got a job in Jul.
I am in my OPT(Optional Practical training). I did not get to file for my H1-B.
Can my company apply for Green card for me right now.
Because I need to keep my status, my OPT expires in Dec-07.
If anyone can get back to me, I would appreciate that.

Yes, green card is for future employment, your employer can apply for your greencard!!
But usually the greencard process takes so long that it is nearly impossible to get it in a year (the time you have in OPT) so the safe bet is to apply h1b otherwise in US-Masters quota if you have one. And take it from there.

Hi All,
I just gave my fingerprints today. I got a match warning for almost all my fingers. I dont remember giving all my finger prints to USCIS at any point of time.. At the max, I would have given thumb and index finger when i travelled.. does this mean i am in trouble?

AILA, as commercial entity as it is, can provide little more free information to the immigrant community that it "serves."
I'm grateful that individual law firms provide some free information. I like(and thankful to) Mathew Oh's concise, to the point information.

Hi I am currently working as a contractor at a client from company C1
C1 applied for my H1B last year and application is still pending + also added Premium Proc. last week, Application Still Pending
At the same time company C2 applied my H1B last year and H1B approved but did not get the documents from USCIS, and applied for "Response on Approved Petition", That is still pennding(But Yes The petition is approved)
But Fortunately or Unfortunately , I got a permananent job with a new company.
I can start working with that company on OPT, and he will apply a new H1B this year.
But , Instead of that Can I get one of my H1Bs transferred?
Or is there a better way to handle this situation?
I know its a mess... Can some one suggest me how to clear this mess?

My Husband was a F1 international student and his F1 service had stopped by his school, but his Visa( China) was expires on July, 2009. Couple months ago, he and I gets married and he is ready for file the green card. But his grandfather is very sick now and he have to go back immedately; however, he didn't file anything at this time. If he having a emergry that need to go back on June , what he can do now? And is he able to come back to US?

Can I travel on a valid / approved AP when my H1 Extension is in progress. This is my
situation:
Valid AP in Hand valid till next year.
H1B expiring 6/20/2011
H1B extension applied on 4/7/11 have rcpt notice.
My questions are this:
1.) When I enter US back in with my AP in Jul 11, will that impact my H1B extension in any way.
2.) Without any EAD will I be Jeapordizing my AOS in any way.
I will be continuing to work with the same employer who is the sponsor of my current
I485.
Request your thoughts and inputs on this situation. Appreciate any replies/advices you may have.

Lets say, after getting EAD and AP and 6 months after filing for I-485, you want to switch jobs to another company but want to do an H1B transfer to a similar position. Do we still have to start the green card process from scratch to remain on H1B?

Hi,
Me and my wife went to India and I came back one week back with my ex employer visa without any problem,I had to show only the I-797 for the current company where I am working. My wife she is still in India coming back to US in September.
I am sending my I-797 original to her in the mail.
My concern is will the immigration officer ask her for my I-797 approval or her I-797 approval ( she is on H4). We don't have an I-797 approval for her as my H1 was applied before we got married.My current H1 is expiring on Jan 19th 2009 so we applied for extension for both of us and got the approvals but its only valid from Jan 19th 2009.
Any replies greatly appreciated.
