I don't know if anybody has noticed it but the dates for EB-2 for VB October 2007 was April 1, 2004 and for VB October 2008 is April 1, 2003. That is a retrogression of 1 year - not good. :mad:
And then you must have also noticed that in Dec 07, it moved to Jan 1, 02.
Jan 00 in Jan 08, U in Feb-March and then April 03 in April 07.
With due respect, I don't think what you have observed really points to anything, either way.
Eventually, EB2-I will move forward, probably next April or so. And yes, this is all good old speculation, it doesn't mean anything really.

That is not true, my lawyer who is very influential and he has some good contacts he told me that this year spill-over would be different form last year. I was stupid so didn�t believe him about July 2007, and paying it for now for not having EAD.
I know this is hard to believe especially if something comes from lawyer.

Thanks for the quick reply. So in my case since my husband doesn't have a RD yet for our I-485 then once we do get our RD, we can calculate that 2 yrs from that time we'll have our card ordered as well. :D :D :D I'm crossing my fingers!

I, for one, am happy with this Oct visa bulletin. This is how it should be. First give GCs to all those with < 2003 PD. You guys with 2006 and 2007 pd should be glad you even got to file I-485 and EAD. What are you bitching about?.

My friend, "USA point of view is multinational executives can potentially create jobs", but the reality is the other way round. They are here to to make the transition happen from Onshore to Offshore. I have complete knowledge on how this EB1 thing works , as I was one of them once upon a time before taking up my current job.
I'll stop and leave it here....
The original intention of EB1 (all three categories) was to have exceptional contributors like scientists/researchers/managers, etch to have highest priority in getting GC. Now over time people have found out loop holes as the language of the requirement criteria has a lot of ambiguity. I guess intention of the current memo is to over scrutinize the claims in these applications to ensure that only genuine candidates qualify. Again this is not fool proof and people will find a roundabout. The desparate condition of the EB green card waiting list is causing people to try and move to the higher preferance category either by using correct means or by using loopholes.

buddy you're the one sounding the most desparate here.
if all you wanted was a large tv, car, house you could have it anywhere in the world. is that all you came to America for ? is that why you walked the line for years ? if you just wanted a laid back existence you could forget the gc and relax in Tanzania. i think you just desperately want to believe you already have it all. good for you. but then why so perturbed if someone disturbs your illusions... no ... your reality ?
people come to America out of a hunger for limitless opportunities.
many people rightly feel they could do give back much more to this country if they had their freedom. sorry if you're not one of them. after you get your gc you might just vegetate for the rest of your life with the material comforts you've gathered.

would Bill Gates, Larry Ellison, Steve Jobs have been able to even get a eb-xyz GC based on their qualifications ? none of them they would qualify even for eb3 - none of them even have college degrees. so much for this eb3/eb2 nonsense. btw the last two are sons of immigrants. maybe the bureucracy here labels you eb1/eb2/eb3 for its convenince - it'll be sad if we actually start believing it - not just for us but for america and the world. the USCIS bureacracy is NOT what defines america. in fact most americans themselves think it's one of the worst run govt organizations.
the biggest irony of course is that what actually defines america is in in fact ... immigration! a breaking away from the mold of artificial bureaucratic limitations of the old world.
but as they say - be careful what you wish for - that may be exactly what you get.
to the original poster: your question is unnecessarily posed in the negative. a better question would be, what does American gain from recent immigration ? a hint. the answer is not mortgages or uscis receipt fees.
